After many a clandestine meeting, secret letter drop, exchange of code-words, cross, recross and double-cross, the stories for our Cloak & Dagger event on Tuesday 12th November have been announced. They feature secrets, lies, tails, trails, poisonings, stabbings, double lives, eavesdropping in cafes, sinister doctors and even actual cloaks and daggers. And here they are:
The Mushroom Hunters by James Field *NEW AUTHOR*
Musique by Barry McKinley
Where it Hurts by Lucy Ribchester *NEW AUTHOR*
Notes of a Notetaking Man by Paul Flack *NEW AUTHOR*
The Creation by Paul Sweeten *NEW AUTHOR*
So, if you want to be in on the secret, sidle up to The Phoenix at 7pm on Tuesday 12th November (show starts at 7.30), say the not-very-secret password "Cloak & Dagger", and give us a fiver. You'll be admitted to the hidden underground world of the Phoenix's basement bar, given strange, challenging questions to answer in our half-time book quiz, and you might even win one of a clutch of brand new thrillers we're giving away as prizes.
Tickets cost £5 on the door (cash only, no advance booking) and seating is unreserved - so it's a good idea to get there a bit ahead of time if you want a good table.
The venue is downstairs at:
The Phoenix Pub
37 Cavendish Square
London
W1G 0PP
(The Phoenix is 5 minutes' walk from Oxford Circus tube station, which is on the Victoria, Bakerloo and Central lines)
