Slings & Arrows stories for Tue 8th April

By the pricking of our thumbs, something wicked this way comes ... it must be our April SLINGS & ARROWS event, featuring soldiers, knights, cross-dressing, hangings, paintball and zombie porn - all in the very best Shakespearean tradition (it's the Bard's 450th birthday this month doncherknow ...) Pull out your quill and note it in your diary for TUESDAY 8TH APRIL - The Guardian named Liars' League as one of the UK's Great Storytelling Nights only last week, so be there or be a cross-garter'd gull.

In addition to these delights, there will also be the usual infamous literary quiz at which you can win FREE BOOKS to improve your mind even more than will the winning stories listed below (except the zombie porn one, that'll just eat your brain). As usual, doors open at 7pm, stories start at 7.30, and tickets are £5 on the door - address below.

Artist of the Month
Our Artist of the Month for April is Melina Traub. Check out her fabulous poster design above.

Are you an artist or illustrator? Do you like free booze? Then submit a jpg large enough to be printed as an A3 poster for one of our forthcoming monthly themes, by the end of the preceding month (i.e. by 31 Mar for April's Slings & Arrows theme) and you could be our Artist of the Month!
- Info which MUST be included are: The event title (e.g. Slings & Arrows - please always use the ampersand &, not the word "and") - our logo (see website) - the event date (see link above) - start time (7.30pm) & ticket price (£5 on the door).

- Sun 20 April: Liars' League Hong Kong wants your take on True & False. Send 800-1200 words to [email protected]
- Wed 30 April: Liars' League NYC invites you to send in your work (800-3000 words) themed around Rich & Poor, to [email protected]
- 31st May: Liars' League Leicester seeks tales of being Young & Foolish: 800-2000 words to [email protected]
- Mon 11th August: The London Lit! series of storytelling events wants writers to read out their short stories (up to 2,500 words) and excerpts from novels.
