June has been a busy month for us so far, with our regular event plus a spot at the Literary Kitchen Festival, and our next summer adventure takes us to a floating pub for a book launch. Curious? Read on ...
Liars' League and Influx Press present Above Sugar Hill: New York Stories in the Vauxhall barge bar Tamesis Dock at 7.30 for 8pm on Sat 25th June. The event is FREE but seating is limited so turn up early if you want a good seat (and a pre-launch drink on the deck ...) Here's the skinny:
Influx Press and Liars' League have teamed up to celebrate the release of Above Sugar Hill by Linda Mannheim; a book of 'smouldering vignettes achingly sad and beautifully wrought' (Stuart Evers) with a launch night of New York stories set on the river Thames's finest floating pub.
As well as stories from the collection there are also two carefully selected New York tales from the Liars' League archive, written by prizewinning novelists Richard Smyth and Jessica Lott.
It's all happening on the Tamesis floating pub, a 1930s Dutch barge moored on the Thames near Vauxhall Tube. You will not get a better live fiction night on a floating boozer for the rest of your life. And it's FREE!
DATE & TIME: Wed 25th June, 7.30 for 8pm (ends 10pm-ish)
VENUE ADDRESS: Tamesis Dock, Albert Embankment (opp no 9)
between Vauxhall and Lambeth Bridge
